Society Dogs Magizine Cover by Ron Finley
This is a basic example of how we generate a relatively huge, hi-rez file with a med-rez camera by using the Better Light system for the background plate of the house and grounds, thus maintaining a uniform (more or less) resolution throughout the compositing process. As this was a magazine cover, you might wonder why we bothered to maintain such a high resolution. Anyone who has worked pulling mattes on frizzy blond fashion models knows, you need to work at as high a resolution and color bit depth as possible.

FYI, the dogs (all shot separately) were all posed WITH their mallets which were held firmly with rigs which were later erased. The final print was printed at 40" x 60" in the neighborhood of 300dpi and graces the lobby of the magazine.
