| It should be noted that taking a portrait with the Better Light camera system is no big deal as long as the subject is talked through the process as it's happening, and understands what's going on, specifically that it is NOT a one minute time exposure and minute movements are tolerable, so long as they don't blink when the sensor bar is passing over their eyes.
At the left is an ideal set-up for taking a portrait with the BL. It offers the subject both comfort and a variety of natural ways for her to brace herself. When dealiing with the high levels required to make the scanning time as brief as possible, there is always the potential for squinting. We've found the old movie trick of staring at a bright white card before the shot helps a lot.
